Breaking Free from the Dieting-Overeating Cycle

Diets Don't Work

A Mindfulness-based approach to Conflicted Eating;
Learn to eat like a naturally lean person without deprivation or hunger

Conflicted Eating begins with an intense desire to eat well and lose weight. Inevitably, you feel like you are losing control, resulting in deep guilt and shame. This is followed by a renewed determination to eat "right" which leads to preoccupation with food and weight, resulting in more overeating and more shame. The cycle continues. The desire to eat well and lose weight is deep and intense, but you can't figure out why you're unable to stay on your diet.

Conflicted Eating does not occur from a lack of self-discipline. However, it can leave you feeling as if you are not in control. I can teach you to change the cycle of unhappiness, to learn to handle emotions in other ways than seeking solace in food, and to regain the ability to take care of yourself without overeating and without starving.

Diets Don't Work.  By taking the focus off of food and replenishing your mind psychologically and spiritually, you can finally stop the vicious cycle.

This is what many of my clients tell me:
  • There are times when I feel out of control about what and how I eat.
  • I often resolve to change the way I am with food.
  • Sometimes I actually loathe myself for the way I eat or the way my body looks.
  • I know I eat for emotional reasons.
  • I think of myself as being "good" or "bad" depending on how I ate that day.
  • I really want to lose some weight, but always end up sabotaging myself.
