For many people, it is difficult to make the decision to see professional help. I understand this and will make the process comfortable and accessible. From the very beginning your relationship is with me, personally, not with an appointment secretary or receptionist. We will speak on the phone or by email and then schedule an initial consultation within a short period of time. There is no commitment assumed.
When we meet, I will ask you questions that will help you explain and describe what problems you are encountering and what you need. We will identify what the difference is between where you are, and where you want to be. I listen carefully and completely and I will reflect to you what I hear and tell you my observations and thoughts about your situation. I will then make recommendations about possible courses of treatment.
Together we will formulate the next steps, if we decide to work together. I encourage you to ask questions at any point and to let me know what your experience is. Your input is always very important and is part of the treatment process. That is how I provide the most individualized treatment possible.. Each person is unique, and I will develop a plan based on your specific needs.
